US$ 11.50 milion investment in Sino-Bangla garments accessories plant of AEPZ to reduce RMG lead time

China-Bangladesh joint venture Company M/s. CMZ Zipper Sci & Tech (Bangladesh) Co., Limited has signed an investment agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) for establishing a garments accessories industry in Adamjee EPZ. As a backward linkage industry, the enterprise would contribute in reducing lead-time of RMG industry of the country.

CMZ Zipper will invest US$ 11.50 million for producing 134 million pcs of different kinds of Zipper, Button, Metal Rivet & Eyelet, Badge, Buckle, Hook, Bar etc per annum. It will create employment opportunities for 1303 Bangladeshi nationals. 

In presence of Major General S M Salahuddin Islam, BP, SPP, ndc, psc, the Executive Chairman of BEPZA, Mr. Zillur Rahman ndc, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Ms. Shao Minwei, Chairman of M/s. CMZ Zipper Sci & Tech (Bangladesh) Co., Limited inked the deal on behalf of their respective organizations at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka recently.

Among others, Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Engineering), Mizanur Rahman, Member (Finance), Mr. Md. Nabirul Islam, Secretary, Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) and Md. Tanvir Hossain, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA were also present during this time.
