BEPZA welcomes first-ever airplane amenity bag & kit manufacturing industry at BEPZA Economic Zone

In a significant step towards diversifying its industrial base, the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) has welcomed its first-ever airplane amenity bag and kit manufacturing company at the BEPZA Economic Zone. The Chinese firm KMK Industrial Limited is set to establish operations with an investment of US$ 18.60 million, creating employment opportunities for 1,231 Bangladeshi nationals.

The agreement was signed on September 14, 2025 between Mr. Md. Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Mr. Wu Yuxiang, Chairman of KMK Industrial Limited, in the presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc.

The company will preliminary manufacture airplane amenity bags and gradually expand into producing in-house items such as socks, garments and accessories, cosmetics, and selected electronic items including headphones and USB cables. This marks a breakthrough in introducing a unique and diversified product line to the portfolio of industries under BEPZA. 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman thanked KMK Industrial Limited for choosing BEPZA Economic Zone as their preferred investment destination. He reaffirmed BEPZA’s commitment to providing full support to ensure smooth business operations. He said, “This project represents a milestone in our continuous effort to diversify export-oriented industries. We strongly encourage investors to develop in-house production capacity and source materials from local enterprises, thereby strengthening both industry and the national economy.”

The signing ceremony was attended by senior BEPZA officials, including Abdullah Al Mamun, Member (Engineering); A N M Foyzul Haque, Member (Finance); Md. Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion); Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director (Enterprise Services); Md. Salahuddin, Executive Director (Administration) and A.S.M. Anwar Parvez, Executive Director (Public Relations), alongside representatives from KMK Industrial Limited.
